Kaldi Coffee Trail: Ty Coets Coach House, Beddgelert

Kaldi Coffee Trail: Ty Coets Coach House, Beddgelert

Beddgelert is one of those small Welsh villages that’s almost too good-looking for its own good. Stone cottages, a river running through the middle, mountains on the doorstep. It’s quiet, it’s calm, and tucked in among it all is Ty Coets Coach House.

Inside & Out

Step inside and you’ll find a cosy little space with a counter full of cakes and pastries that are hard to ignore. It’s not the biggest space indoors, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with charm. Outside is where it really comes into its own though with plenty of seating, all set up for soaking in the sunshine. On a summer’s day like the one John had, it’s the perfect spot to sit back with a coffee and watch the village go by.

First Stop

John wandered in and went straight for a Cortado. Short, strong, no messing about. Exactly the kind of drink that cuts through a long day of paddle-boarding and chilling by the side of the lake.

The Spill

He barely made it past the front door before managing to spill the whole thing. One of those slow-motion moments where you know what’s about to happen but can’t stop it. Cup down, cortado gone.

The person behind the counter without hesitation, brought him a fresh one. No drama, no awkwardness, just a simple kind gesture that makes a place stick in your head.

The Coffee

Second time round, John actually got to drink it. Smooth, balanced and very easy to enjoy. Nothing over the top or fancy, just a solid cortado done well that tasted great.

Worth the Stop?

Ty Coets Coach House is the kind of place you want in a village like Beddgelert. Straightforward, welcoming, and a reminder that sometimes good coffee is about more than just the cup.

Stay Caffeinated,
